Barringer Lumber to add 40 jobs in Doddridge with sawmill

SMITHBURG — After approval for funds through the West Virginia Capital Access Program, Barringer Lumber plans for sawmill operations in Doddridge County that will add 40 jobs to the area.

A $500,000 loan will go toward raw material acquisition and capital expenditures for sawmill operations in Smithburg in Doddridge County, Amma in Roane County and Hazelton in Preston County, according to Capital Access Program officials.

West Virginia Jobs Investment Trust, the state’s venture capital program, manages the program.

The Mid-Ohio Valley Regional Development Authority provided $500,000 in funds, while the West Virginia Capital Access Program matched those funds with another half million, according to West Virginia Jobs Investment Trust investment manager Michelle O’Connor.
